Reboot To Windows From Ubuntu

  1. sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
  2. Change line GRUB_DEFAULT=0, to GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
  3. sudo update-grub
  4. sudo grub-reboot 4
  5. Number at the end is GRUB menuentry position. To find out what number it should be, restart computer and look at the GRUB. For example if Windows entry is 5th, then you should write 4, because it starts from 0.
      You can also make a script:
  1. sudo apt-get install gksu
  2. Create text file with text
  3.     #!/bin/bash
        gksu grub-reboot 4
        gksu reboot

  4. Make it executable sudo chmod +x file
      And even .desktop file:
  1. Create text file with text with .desktop extension
  2.    [Desktop Entry]
       Type=Application
       Name=Restart to Windows
       Exec=(path to script)
       Categories=System;

  3. Put it in /home/user/.local/share/applications
